Fuse, compass and elevator repair
Find a Fuse in chests or lockers, or test the community Compass shortcut. Hold the item at the broken elevator slot, then pay 40 coins to activate the exit.
The short answer
When the elevator says it needs a Fuse, search the layer's chests and lockers. A community video also demonstrates a Compass being used as a possible Fuse substitute, but that shortcut is not documented on the official Steam listing.
Where to search
Sweep storage containers around the map first: chests and lockers are the locations repeatedly named in the Steam discussion. There is no official map or fixed spawn position in the source, so do not waste time searching for one guaranteed room.
How to install it
Bring the Fuse back to the broken elevator, put it in your hand, and interact with the broken slot. The community explanation says the held Fuse connects to the slot; carrying it in your inventory alone does not finish the repair.
Can a Compass replace the Fuse?
A community video titled 'Secret Fuse Hack!' shows a Compass held at the broken elevator slot as a shortcut. Treat this as a player-tested interaction rather than an official guarantee: try it only when you can afford to lose the run, and use the normal Fuse route if the current build rejects it.
Pay the escape cost
After the Fuse is connected, put 40 coins into the elevator machine to activate the exit, then leave the layer. The 40-coin amount is community-reported and should be rechecked after major patches.
If you still cannot escape
Check that the Fuse is equipped in your hand rather than only stored in inventory, return to the exact broken slot, and confirm that the machine accepts the required coins. If the prompt is missing, restart the run and compare the current build with recent Steam updates.
